After Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United contract was terminated by mutual consent in November 2022, De Bruyne took his place as the Premier League’s highest earner. Kevin De Bruyne spent two years in the Bundesliga after failing to prove himself at Chelsea. Manchester City signed him in 2015 from Wolfsburg for £55 million. Back then, this was the club’s most expensive signing and the second most expensive in British football history.

David de Gea

The second longest-serving player at Manchester United is out of contract at the end of the season. The shot-stopper, has made over 300 appearances for the Red Devils since arriving in 2011. He helped the Red Devils win the UEFA Europa League, Carling Cup (now Carabao Cup), and Community Shield in 2016.

Erling Haaland is seen as the world’s most valuable player with a estimated worth of over £200million. The Norwegian has already broken the record of most goals in a single Premier League season with his current total of 36 expected to be increased further before the end of the season.

Sancho scored 50 goals and had 64 assists during his four seasons with Borussia Dortmund. United were hoping for a greater return on their Sancho investment this season but, apart from an ice-cool finish against Liverpool, he’s once again failed to impress but he has plenty of time on his side after signing a five-year contract, with the option of an extra season.

Chelsea are paying Sterling £325,000 a week, But the England international has failed to shine at Stamford Bridge so far, registering seven goals and three assists across his opening 26 games for the west London club. the former Liverpool forward left Manchester City for Chelsea ahead of the 2022/23 season. The 28-year-old cost a cool £47.5 million and is under contract on these terms with the Blues until 2027.

Grealish left his boyhood club Aston Villa and joined Manchester City in a £100m deal in 2021, becoming the most expensive British footballer of all time.
