The Premier League is back in action with another round of matches this week as Fulham vs Leicester City is an important encounter at Craven Cottage on Monday.
Fulham vs Leicester Preview
Fulham are currently in 10th place in the Premier League standings and have been plagued by inconsistency so far this season. The Cottagers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the previous game and will need to bounce back this weekend. Dean Smith has come in and completely revolutionized Leicester’s offense. After four matches in charge, the Foxes’ attack has generated a whopping 10.2 expected goals. Fulham have also found things difficult at Craven Cottage, where they have claimed just one win from their last five matches. Marco Silva’s men have suffered three defeats in that run and were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City in their previous home facture.
Vardy also loves playing against Fulham, scoring two goals and assisting two more in three career Premier League matches against them, although all of those games were at home. When Leicester needed someone to dig deep over recent years, it’s often been Vardy who has been among those to step up. This is another great chance for the former England striker to shine.
Fulham have an 18-8 advantage with five draws from 31 previous matches against Leicester City. However, there have been two wins each in the last four meetings while the Cottagers claimed a 1-0 victory over the reverse fixture back in January.
Team News
Aleksandar Mitrovic serves the final game of his eight-match ban, while Andreas Pereira and Tim Ream are out for the season with injury. Andreas Pereira is another notable absentee for Fulham due to a long-term ankle injury. Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans have recovered from their respective thigh injuries. And both players might be fit enough to at least make the matchday squad on Monday. The Nigerian striker has stepped up his recovery from a groin injury and should return before the season ends.
