Manchester United Rebuild
Manchester United have been linked with selling numerous players to raise funds. He has a important role in the squad but it is unlikely that Ten Hag has him in his first team plans. The Red Devils are very active in the transfer window in terms of incoming players and they are showing no signs of slowing down. With Manuel Ugarte eyed as a midfield reinforcement. Fulham are keen on replacing Joao Palhinha and Manchester United’s McTominay is a player they like. Manchester United have already rejected a bid worth £17m from the Cottagers earlier in the window. Which shows they want more for the 27-year-old. Scott McTominay and Kobbie Mainoo, two of the outstanding performers of an otherwise starless 2023/24 campaign, are earning just £65,000 and £20,000.
Scott McTominay in Manchester United Plans
Ten Hag explained: “We want to actually keep him because he’s a very important player for our squad. We’ve seen what he can contribute last season. When we had the sixes and he could play in a more advanced role, he’s a highly interesting player for our team.” He has even signed a contract extension at Old Trafford after guiding the club to FA Cup glory in May.
He joined United’s academy at age five and progressed through the ranks to make his senior debut in 2017. Known for his physicality, work rate, and versatility, McTominay has become a key player for both club and country, contributing significantly in midfield. Off the pitch, there is now great hope with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS looking to oversee drastic improvement on the pitch following their arrival earlier this year.
Fulham however are not giving up on the Scot as the Old Trafford outfit are fully expecting another bid from them for McTominay. How much Fulham might offer remains to be seen.
